Alienware curved monitor

leave a comment »

Wow, what a beast! You are looking at a prototype of a new CRT, curved monitor by Alienware. A quote from gizmodo.com gives some insight to some specifications:

Lit by LEDs, this 2880×900 monster is well over three feet wide and is said to have an other-worldly .02ms response time, great for gaming.

I am sure many will complain about the fact that it is a DLP monitor instead of a thinner LCD design. I could care less about the super fast response time, then again I am not a gamer. I would mainly enjoy the fact that it is one large seamless monitor without having to worry about contrast difference or any type of border between multiple monitors! How to save gas, according to George Carlin

with 4 comments

I have always loved George Carlin. He can be very abrasive and “in your face” about what he believes. Here is a quote from him that I found on a forum that I hang out on, I think it is an excellent idea!

Bush wants us to cut the amount of gas we use…The best way to stop using so much gas is to deport 11 million immigrants! That would be 11 million less people using our gas… The price of gas would come down…Bring our troops home from Iraq to guard the Border…When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship him to Iraq…Tell him if he wants to come to America then he must serve a tour in the military…give him a soldiers pay while he’s there and tax him on it…After his tour , he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country…He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal patriot…This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves…If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway, without the canteen, rifle, or ammo…problem solved…
