Waterproof flash drive?

with one comment

Now what is the point of this?

Corsair has decided it would be a great idea to spend the time and money to produce a waterproof flash drive! Now the CNC machined, aircraft aluminum casing is cool. I could use a flash drive like that, instead of the cheap plastic, but how many army rangers, navy seals, scuba divers, or any other joe blow do you know that would need a waterproof flash drive? Don’t get me wrong, it is very cool in a geek sense, but in my opinion they could have spent that time figuring out how to increase storage density, or something more useful into the little booger!

  1. I just bought a Survivor. My old drive, which was actually a really good drive, kept complaining about being sat on all the time. And I put it over the edge when I got it wet and destroyed some of the data. You don’t have to be a Navy Seal or Marine to get a little wet once in a while. For those who actually care about their data, waterproof is an essential feature.
